LITTLE KNITTED PURSE
Cast on 67 stitches with #8 circular needle and a worsted weight yarn. (In the photo I used a polished cotton 3 ply yarn)
Knit for 1”.
Next row start making holes for the drawstring. Knit 5 sts, YO, K2tog, PSSO, repeat.
Knit for 3 ½” then start decreasing by k2tog. method.
1st decrease, decrease every 10 sts. K one row.
Next row decrease every 8 sts. K one row.
Next decrease every 6sts, K one row. Continue like this, decreasing every 4sts, then every 2 sts with a K row between until there are 8 or 10 stitches on the needle.
With a large eyed needle pull the remaining sts. through and close. Cut the yarn and weave in.
Make a crochet chain about 24” for the drawstring. Weave that in and out through the holes.
Knit an I-Cord about 50” for the strap. Leave a tail at both ends. Attach the cord on both sides with the tails. Secure and cut off excess thread and weave in.
Optional: sew decorative buttons as accent.
Tip: Instead of using one color you can make stripes.
